Masterstrokes

These concerts, originally scheduled for August 2021, and again for September 2023, had to be cancelled on both occasions on account of the Covid pandemic.

In this programme, RESTORATION performs works by three of the greatest masters of the baroque – Telemann’s overture-suite based on the zany characters of the commedia dell’arte, one of Bach's most beautiful and best-loved works, the E major violin concerto played by Lucinda Moon, and Handel’s concerto that he reworked for strings from some of his greatest theatrical triumphs, Alcina, Terpsicore, Parnasso in Festa and Athalia.

Although the concerts had to be cancelled, we were able to proceed with recording some of the music from the programme.  Some excerpts are now available here on our website.
